Davis World Cup Referees

Without volunteer referees we wouldn't be able to have a tournament! Thanks to ALL referees who participate. This page contains information for referees for the Davis World Cup tournament. If you have any questions, contact the DWC referee administrator at DWCRefAdmin@davisayso.net .

Referee Scheduling: We will be using our online referee scheduler (see below).
All referees that participate in our tournament must be registered with AYSO and have a current volunteer application form on file with their home Region.
Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided at each of the field sites (at the field marshal tables or special referee tables).

Referee Check-In
Tournament Rules
We will be using DWC game cards this year. For U10, U12 and U14 games the referee should track playing time. All players must participate in two quarters, unless they are injured.
For U19 and U16 games there will be a field monitor assigned to each game. The field monitor will track the playing time for each player.

Referee Scheduling

All bracket games will be through self assignment. Please register yourself in our Referee (web) online scheduling system NOW as described below (don't wait until the last moment, please). The game schedule itself should be available for self assignment in late April, but we would like referees to register in the system as soon as possible.

Registration Process (Please read ALL of the info here before clicking on any links):

Go to the Referee Scheduler at http://refscheduler.net/Soccer/Welcome2.asp
To Register:
- Use the Davis Info for Section, Area and Region, not your own info.
  - Section 2
  - Area D
  - Region 218
- Click the Login button.
- Click the New Referee Sign-Up button, or select your name from the list if you have enrolled in the past.
It may take several days until your account is activated for new members.
Once you are registered in the scheduler system you will receive all relevant referee notifications via email.

Most playoff games will be scheduled by referee administrators. If you are interested or willing to referee these games, please send a note to DWCRefAdmin@davisayso.net and indicate:

Badge level
Years of experience
Assignment preferences/limitations and conflicts.

The online Referee scheduler will be "Locked-Down" Friday night of the tournament, after the in-service. From that point on, all assignments/changes will be handled at the tournament. We plan on having a person at tournament HQ that will coordinate last minute changes and filling of "holes". You can contact tournament HQ from any field marshal table.

Referee Check-In

Referees can check in at the tournament headquarters on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Details to be published closer to the tournament.

Is it necessary to Check-In? No. Officially checking in Friday night or Saturday morning is not connected to your official referee assignments, those are your assignments regardless. However, if you Check-In, you will have access to printed tournament rules and field maps, can ask questions, and receive your "thank you" gift.

Tournament Rules

Please review the Davis World Cup tournament rules, especially those sections having to do with refereeing. Some points to remember here:

If there are no send-offs and/or yellow cards, game cards are given to the winning coach to turn in at the field marshal tables.
If there are send-offs and/or yellow cards, referees need to complete an incident form (there will be extras at the field marshal tables) and turn in the game card themselves. We need the game cards for scorekeeping purposes and we are on a tight schedule, so please turn the cards in as soon as is possible. Note any cautions or send-offs on the game card, if you don't have time to fill in the incident form right away, please don't hold on to the game card.
All field communications must go through the field marshals.
Information regarding U10 games:
- Heading & Slide Tackling is OK if done safely.
